Booking fall RV details · Seal it before the rainNow booking fall RV details across the Bay Area · Get it sealed before the winter rain and storage season
Fiberglass gelcoat doesn’t fail overnight. Sun burns the top layer into a fine white powder — that’s oxidation. Once it starts, a wash won’t bring the shine back, and every summer parked outside it eats a little deeper (and knocks a little more off the resale value).

Why oxidation removal takes a day
Oxidation is dead gelcoat. Wax only hides it for a few weeks — it has to be cut off. That’s why the left half of a taped panel looks chalky and the right half looks wet:
Wash & decontaminate — black streaks, bugs, tar and tree sap off first, so nothing gets ground in.
Compound — a machine cut removes the oxidized layer, panel by panel, caps to bumpers.
Polish — a second, finer stage brings back depth and clarity.
Seal — wax (or ceramic) locks it in so the sun hits the protection, not the gelcoat.
A yearly Polish & Protect is the right call for most rigs. But if you plan to keep yours, a professional 5-year ceramic coating after the oxidation is removed does the same job for half a decade: black streaks rinse off, bugs don’t bake in, and the sun hits the coating instead of your gelcoat.
Polish & Protect every year$999 × 5 = $4,995
Restore + 5-Year Ceramic, once$2,799
You keep $2,196 — and you never book a waxing appointment again.

Diesel pushers & Class A
A $400,000 coach deserves more than a rinse
Big coaches are where cheap detailing does real damage: a rotary in the wrong hands burns through gelcoat, a harsh cleaner lifts a decal, a ladder leaned on a front cap leaves a crack. Here’s how we work on yours:
Full-body paint treated as paint — machine polished, never scrubbed with a brush
Platform ladders that never lean on the coach
Front cap, rear cap and slide-out faces done to the same standard as the sides
One crew from start to finish, and photos texted to you when we’re done
Keep a Class A, Class C, camper van, trailer or fifth wheel within ~50 miles of San Francisco
Store it at a lot and never have a free weekend to deal with it
Have watched the sides go chalky and the stripes go flat
Are getting it ready to sell — or rent out on Outdoorsy or RVshare
Want someone careful around a coach that cost more than your first house
Not for you if…
You want the cheapest $8-a-foot rinse in the Bay — that’s not what we do
You expect years of oxidation gone in two hours — real compounding takes a day
You’d rather haggle than book — our prices are fixed and the same for everyone
You need it done tomorrow at dawn before you leave — big jobs need a booked day
Fair warning: we’re not the cheapest RV detailer in the Bay Area. You’re paying for a fixed price, the time it really takes, and people you can trust alone with your rig.
RV detailing, straight answers
How much does RV detailing cost in the Bay Area?
Our prices are fixed by class: Wash & Wax from $299 (camper van) to $649 (diesel pusher), Polish & Protect from $749 to $1,599, Oxidation Removal from $1,099 to $2,399, and Restore + 5-Year Ceramic from $1,999 to $4,499. No travel fee within about 50 miles of San Francisco.
What is RV oxidation, and how do I know if I have it?
Oxidation is UV damage to the gelcoat (the glossy outer layer of fiberglass). It shows up as a dull, chalky or yellowed finish and flat-looking stripes. Do the rub test: wipe two fingers down a sunny sidewall. White chalk on your fingers means oxidation has started and needs to be compounded off — wax alone only hides it for a few weeks.
Can you detail my RV at a storage lot?
Usually, yes. Some lots ask for proof of insurance (we have it) and a few don't allow washing on site, so tell us the lot when you book and we check its rules before we come. You don't need to be there.
Do you bring your own water and power?
Yes. We bring water, power, ladders and everything else. All we need is legal access to the rig and room to work around it.
How often should I wax my RV?
Once a year for most Bay Area rigs that live outside — that's what Polish & Protect is for, and it keeps oxidation from starting. Rigs parked in full sun inland (Livermore, Concord, San José) may want it every 6–9 months. A 5-year ceramic coating replaces the yearly wax.
Is ceramic coating worth it on an RV?
If you plan to keep the rig, usually yes. Five years of yearly Polish & Protect on a Class C is $4,995; Restore + 5-Year Ceramic is $2,799 once — and it includes removing the oxidation first. Black streaks and bugs rinse off instead of baking in.
How long does it take?
Wash & Wax takes 2–4 hours, Polish & Protect most of a day, Oxidation Removal 1–2 days, and Restore + 5-Year Ceramic 2–3 days depending on size and condition. We give you the plan when we confirm your date.
My coach has full-body paint, not fiberglass. Can you still do it?
Yes — many diesel pushers have automotive-style full-body paint with a clear coat. We treat it as paint: machine polish and protect it like a high-end car, never a brush scrub. Same fixed price.
Will polishing damage my decals or graphics?
Not with the right process. Faded or peeling decals are taped off and cleaned by hand, and we tell you before we start if a graphic is already failing — polishing can't fix a decal that's coming apart.
How are trailers and fifth wheels priced?
By length: under 30 ft pays the Class C price, 30–37 ft the Class A price, and 38–45 ft the diesel pusher price. Over 45 ft, a toy hauler or a bus conversion — text us a photo for a quote.
Do you do Airstreams?
Yes for wash, wax and ceramic. Bare or clear-coated aluminum needs different products than fiberglass, so text us a photo first and we'll tell you exactly what we'd do.
Is the roof included?
The packages cover everything from the top of the sidewalls down, including front and rear caps. A roof wash with UV treatment is quoted separately from photos — tick it in the form and we'll price it with your booking.
Do I need to be there?
No. Leave us the gate code, or just leave the rig at home. We text when we arrive and send photos when we're done.
Is there a deposit? What if I cancel?
No payment to book. Cancelling with under 24 hours' notice, or a no-show, costs 50% of the quoted price (see Terms).
