Paint Correction in Foster City, CA — Mobile, at Your Driveway

• Bird droppings, constantly. Geese, gulls, and ducks work the lagoons and the outer levee along the Bay Trail all year. Uric acid softens clear coat fast, and in direct sun the etch sets in a matter of hours. Light etch rings polish out with a 1-step. Deeper ones need a 2-step. If a dropping sat long enough to go through the clear coat, no polish will bring that spot back — that is paint work, and we will say so.
• Full sun, all day. The terrain is flat, open, and engineered — no hills to throw shade, and open water on nearly every side. Cars parked in driveways, guest spots, and the Metro Center lots bake from morning to evening, which speeds up every etch and every water spot that lands on them.
• Wind-driven grit off the Bay. The wind comes straight across the water with nothing to break it. Fine grit lands on horizontal panels, and the next quick wipe-down drags it across the paint. That is where a lot of the swirl pattern on Foster City cars comes from.
• Brackish Bay salt haze. It is milder than the open-ocean salt on the coast side in Pacifica, but it is still corrosive and it still leaves a bonded film that has to be chemically decontaminated before anything gets polished.

Second, we do not promise to remove everything. Correction only removes defects that live in the clear coat. Anything that has gone through the clear coat — a deep bird-dropping etch, a scratch your fingernail catches hard in, a chip down to primer — cannot be polished out, and we will point at it and tell you that on the spot rather than after we have your money. It is also worth knowing that every correction permanently removes a small amount of clear coat, and it never grows back. That is why we polish as little as the job needs, not as much as the machine can do, and why we do not recommend correcting the same car over and over.

Three levels, priced by how deep the damage goes. Most Foster City daily drivers with etch rings and light swirls land at 1-step. Dark paint with older, deeper etching usually earns the 2-step. Prices are for correction at your home, and there is no travel fee here.
